全校师生：
鉴于当前新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎疫情防控形势依然严峻，根据《广东省人民政府关于企业复工和学校开学时间的通知》要求，大专院校2月24日前不开学，根据疫情形势和防控情况，科学研判后确定具体开学时间。为全力遏制疫情蔓延，确保师生员工身体健康和生命安全，经学校研究，决定推迟2019-2020学年度春季学期开学时间，具体开学日期和后续工作安排另行通知。
1. 全体离校学生不得提前返校。已预定返程票的请及时办理退票手续。
2. 受延迟开学影响的各项教学相关工作将做相应调整和安排，具体以学校和教务处发布的通知为准。
3. 请全体师生自觉遵守《中华人民共和国传染病防治法》《突发公共卫生事件应急条例》，积极配合所在地防疫工作，按照要求落实防护措施，坚持戴口罩、勤洗手、勤消毒，保持良好卫生习惯，注意居家和室内场所空气流通。尽量在家不外出、不聚会、不举办和参加集中性活动，避免出入人群密集场所。

Notice on Postponing Start of the Spring Semester 2020
Dear faculty and students,
In order to prevent and control the new coronavirus infection and protect the health and life safety of STU faculty and students, according to the unified arrangement of the Guangdong Provincial Government that requires universities/colleges not to start the new semester before Feb. 24, STU has decided to postpone the start date of the spring semester 2020. The specific resumption date and follow-up arrangements will be notified in further notice.
1. All students are required NOT TO RETURN to the campus in advance. Those who have booked the tickets back to Shantou are requested to soon cancel your tickets.
2. All teaching and learning activities originally planned will be postponed accordingly. Specific adjusted arrangements shall be notified in further notices.
3. Please comply with rules and regulations on infectious disease prevention and public health emergency in China, fully cooperate with the local as required to prevent and control the pandemic. Be sure to always wear masks, wash hands and make disinfection. Maintain personal hygiene, make sure rooms and indoor spaces have good air flow, avoid going outdoors, gathering, holding or taking part in group activities, and stay away from crowded places.
